Walter Sisulu NBG
Arboretum

The arboretum contains many naturally occurring tree species such as white stinkwood (Celtis africana), river bushwillow (Combretum erythrophyllum) and common hookthorn (Acacia caffra). The arboretum strives to represent interesting trees of South Africa and many different species have been planted recently.

Erythrina zeyeri

An interesting addition to the arboretum are the deciduous plough-breakers (Erythrina zeyheri) which have very large underground stems with only the leaves, flowers and fruits held above the ground.
