Every Tuesday morning between 9h00 and 12h00 enthusiastic group of artists meet at Fynbos Lodge, Kirstenbosch, to share information and paint our indigenous flora. The group is lead by Vicki Thomas (chair of the Botanica1 Artists' Association of Southern Africa and Jeanette Loedolff (resident botanical artist at Kirstenbosch). Botanical artists of all levels of skill are welcome to bring their work for constructive criticism and assistance with.information on technique etc. The group of regulars settle down to paint for the morning, giving each other support and assistance. There is a small charge for the morning. The funds go towards the Kirstenbosch Bienniale Botanical Art Exhibition and back into the group for equipment and excursions. Space is limited for painting berths, but artists are welcome to drop in on a Tuesday morning. Fynbos Lodge is opposite the Head Office Building at Kirstenbosch. |
