The main findings of this project will inform the National Action Programme (NAP) to Combat Desertification. This is a policy document which will be developed by all relevant stakeholders from the government, agriculture, research and the non-governmental sectors. It will ultimately be used by government to direct education, rehabilitation and other intervention programmes aimed at reversing the negative effects of land degradation in South Africa. The Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism is responsible for developing the NAP and their website should be consulted for further information.
