Kirstenbosch has four venues offering refreshments, all situated in very attractive surroundings. These outlets are not operated by the National Botanical Institute, so please contact the restaurant concerned for bookings or further details.

Silvertree Restaurant and Fynbos Deli

Situated in a near paradise, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens boasts the world-class Silvertree and 'European Deli-style' Fynbos restaurant.

This is a venue competent to meet the wishes of every individual and exploit the beauty of every season! On a warm, summers evening it is possible to savour a good wine or sip away at a cocktail whilst the Cape sun sets majestically over the mountain. In the winter it is possible to dine in intimate delight as the warmth from the glowing log fire pleasantly lulls your senses.

The serene ambiance experienced in this 300 seater venue which is ideal for Weddings, Bar mitzvahs,cocktail parties, dinner parties and Private functions is truly captivating, and with the backdrop of the tranquil gardens and mountain, defining memories are inevitable.

Fynbos Deli

'The Fynbos', named after the uniquely South African flora, boasts a range of fresh products for picnic baskets and light lunches which are enjoyed by tour groups, nature lovers and young travellers alike.

Delicatessen is open from 8h30- 18h00 in summer and until 17h00 in
winter.

Kirstenbosch Tea Room

Sited near the Centre for Home Gardening, the Kirstenbosch Tea Room provides the nostagically remembered fare of the old tearoom with updated flair. It serves sandwiches, salads and teas all day; scrumptious breakfasts until 11h30 and comfort foods such as bangers and mash, hake and chips from 12h00. There is also a special kid's menu (available to the not so hunger adult too). On Sundays, from spring through to autumn, the Tea Room serves a special Sunday morning buffet breakfast (8h30 to 11h30).

The Kirstenbosch Tea Room is fully licensed and has a list of popular wines at reasonable prices. Bookings for groups are accepted and special functions catered for during the day.

Caffe Botanica

Situated in the Visitors' Centre at Kirstenbosch, Caffe Botanica is an excellent spot for a light lunch, coffee break or snack. It can be visited without entering the Garden.

Caffe Botanica is open daily from 08h00-06h00, but may close earlier in winter.
