The main aim of this programme area is to bridge the gap between policy and the research arena. Findings of the technical work done under the programmes areas of bioregional planning and the TSP will be translated and integrated into the policy landscape. This will be achieved through conducting policy research and recommending policy options to be taken up either by the NBI or government. There are opportunities that emanate from the:
- Global policy landscape such as the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and its expected outcomes; the decisions of the Conference of Parties of the various biodiversity treaties.
- National policy landscape.
